The compensation received, if applicable, on the occasion of the abandonment of the position. Only certain senior officials are entitled to this pension.
The people who are part of the Government, the Secretaries and Secretaries of State, the person who holds the position in the Office of the Attorney General of the State, the heads of the regulatory agencies, the Head or Chief and Secretary or General of the House of SM. The King is entitled to receive a compensatory pension after the abandonment of the position equivalent to 80% of his annual remuneration for a maximum of two years following the cessation. This compensation is paid monthly.
Since 2012, the compensation is incompatible with any other remuneration derived from public or private activities as a result of the Royal Decree-Law 20/2012
The person holding a high position may at any time waive the receipt of compensation.
