Presidency of the Government

The Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, as the political and technical assistance organ of the President of the Government, shall exercise the following functions:

1. To provide the President of the Government with the political and technical information necessary for the exercise of his functions.

2. To advise the President of the Government on such matters and matters as may be available to him.

3. Know the programs, plans and activities of the different ministerial departments, in order to facilitate the President of the Government the coordination of the action of the Government.

4. To carry out the study and monitoring of all European Union programmes and actions that have an impact on the public policies of the State, providing the necessary information for European decision-making.

5. Know the public policies and programs adopted and developed by the governments of the autonomous communities, in order to facilitate cooperation and co-governance in all those matters that require concurrent and concerted action.

6. Facilitate communication with the citizens and attend to and respond to all suggestions, complaints and information addressed to the President of the Government.

7. Assist the President of the Government in matters related to national policy, international policy and economic policy.

8. Advise the President of the Government on matters of National Security.

9. Carry out those other activities or functions that are entrusted to him by the President of the Government.

1. The organization and security of the activities of the President of the Government, both in the national territory and in his movements abroad.

2. Coordination of the support and protocol activities of the President of the Government in his relationship with the remaining powers of the State.

3. Support and technical advice to the various organs of the Presidency of the Government, as well as assistance in the areas of economic administration, personnel, maintenance and conservation, computer and communications media.

4. The coordination of logistical programs and devices for trips abroad by authorities of the Spanish Government.

5. Supervision of the Health Operating System of the Presidency of the Government.

6. The execution of those other activities or functions entrusted to him by the person in charge of the Office of the President of the Government.

The duties assigned to him by the head of the Cabinet Directorate and to assist the General Committee of Secretaries of State and Assistant Secretaries

It is responsible for coordinating the areas of its competence and the unit assigned to it and, in particular, carrying out advisory, support and strengthening functions in the elaboration of the Government ' s political programme.

1. Advise the President of the Government in the design and implementation of national and European public policies.
2. Promote coordination between ministries to ensure the overall coherence of government action.
3. Advise and assist the President of the Government in matters related to the European Union and bilateral relations with European countries.
4. To provide the President of the Government with the information necessary for the exercise of his participation in the European Council, carrying out the analysis and monitoring of the programs and actions of the European Union.
5. Analyze the challenges and opportunities of Spain in the coming years and help the country prepare for them.

It is the responsibility of the General Secretariat for Foreign Affairs, within the scope of the functions assigned to the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government, to advise, support and assist the President of the Government in matters related to its international activity, foreign relations, multilateral and global affairs.

It will also be responsible for the preparation and follow-up of international summits and meetings in which the President of the Government participates.

The functions of coordination of the areas of its competence and of the departments and units attached to it and, in particular, the advice and technical and political support to the President of the Government in matters related to Economic Policy.

1. Coordination of the Government ' s information policy and elaboration of the criteria for its determination, as well as promotion and coordination of the State ' s institutional communication policy.

2. Preparation and dissemination of the communiqués of the Government and its President.

3. An overview of the activities of the Council of Ministers.

4. The direction of the information services of the General Administration of the State in Spain and abroad.

5. Relations with the media, as well as the analysis of the national and international situation.

6. The organization of national, regional, international and digital media coverage of government activity.

7. Attendance at the activities and public hearings of the President of the Government, both on national territory and abroad.

8. Support for the Institutional Publicity and Communication Commission, in the exercise of the functions attributed to it by Royal Decree 947/2006, of 28 August, regulating the Institutional Publicity and Communication Commission, and the preparation of the Annual Publicity and Communication Plan of the General Administration of the State.
