Open Administration Week 2026

In Spain, Open Administration Week is coordinated and promoted by the General Directorate of Public Governance, with the collaboration of the Open Government Forum.
  • Background

Open Administration Week (SAA) is an initiative promoted by the Alliance for Open Government (Open Gov Week) at a global level that aims to disseminate its principles and practices to create a culture, shared by public administrations and citizens, based on the values of transparency and integrity, civic participation and promotion of fundamental rights, as well as accountability.

Spain has been a member of the Open Government Alliance since 2011, and since then has participated in the organization of eight editions, in which it has revalidated its leadership among the member states of the Alliance in the organization of activities to promote the culture of open government.

  • Objective

Open Government Week aims to organize events to bring Public Administrations closer to citizens, based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.

  • Dates

In 2026 the Open Administration Week will be celebrated del 18 to 24 May.

Open Administration Week at the Ministry for Open Transformation and Public Service

Open Administration Week is a global initiative of the Open Government Alliance, to be held from May 18 to 24, 2026. Its objective is to bring public administrations closer to the citizens, in accordance with the principles of transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration.

This year, the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Public Service will participate with the organization of several events, of which you can see the Information below.

    On the occasion of the celebration of elections in Spain in 2023, the organization of the Open Administration Week 2023 from 20 to 24 March, so it did not coincide with the official days of Open Government Week 2023.

    OPEN ADMINISTRATION WEEK 2022

    Due to the announcement of the electoral process in Andalusia, the celebration of Open Administration Week 2022 was postponed to the week of June 27 to July 1, 2022 (initially scheduled from May 16 to 20).

    For Open Administration Week 2022, it was considered appropriate to focus on virtual or semi-face-to-face events, taking into account both health circumstances and the great potential that these formats have in the dissemination of innovative and large-scale content.
