The beginning of this activity is conditioned to two other administrative actions: firstly, the staffing and effective and dynamic operation of the Data Office. The above-mentioned contract will produce material for training. Additionally, this type of action seems to be included in the AI Oversight Agency.

The configuration of AI governance in Spain is being articulated around two axes, through which we will proceed to develop the actions that contribute to the fulfillment of this activity:

  • On the one hand, a Spanish AI Supervision Agency will be created, who should be the one to perform this function of disclosure of reliability and transparency in AI. The authorization for its creation is found in the thirtieth additional provision of Law 22/2021, of December 28, on General State Budgets for the year 2022. https://www.boe.es/buscar/doc.php?id=BOE-A-2021-21653
  • In addition, the Pilot of the European AI Regulation that is going to be carried out in our country will give the keys to be able to give criteria of reliability and transparency in AI. This pilot has an expected start date to the end of this year.
