Functions
The Ministry of the presidency, justice and relations with the courts, whose head is the notary major of the kingdom, is the department of the General state administration that must, within the scope of the powers conferred by existing legal provisions, the proposal and implementation of government policy for the development of the legal system, especially in criminal, civil, commercial and procedural law; the organization and support of the administration of justice, as well as cooperation with the autonomous communities in coordination with other departments in the field; the international legal cooperation; the rights of grace and titles of nobility and greatness of spain and the state-guaranteed legal aid.

Without prejudice to the competence of the individual holder of the department, it is up to the individual holder of the secretariat of state for justice participation in the relations of the ministry with the government of the General council of the judiciary, of public prosecutions, the competent authorities in the area of justice of the autonomous communities and general councils of the legal profession of public prosecutors and courts of the colleges of Graduates of spain, Social relations of the ministry with the ombudsman in the field of justice, as well as relations with the General council of the Notary and the college of registrars of property, commercial and Personal Property in spain.
Furthermore, it is up to the secretariat of state for justice on the momentum and the initiative for the development policy on matters within its competence, and others responsible for the incumbent of the department, without prejudice to the competence for the office and the secretariat-General Técnica-secretariado of government.
The leadership, coordination and other competences with regard to the secretaries and other members of the body of counsel for the administration of justice.
The management of the account of deposits and appropriations, in relation to the functions of lawyers of administration of justice.
The centralization and consolidation of statistical information that must be given the ministry of the presidency, justice and relations with the courts through the secretaries and members of the administration of justice, participation in the development of the National Statistical Plan in judicial matters, as well as the treatment and follow-up of the statistics relating to the administration of justice and support to the national commission of Judicial Statistics.

Assistance to the individual holder of the Department in support functions to the president of the government.
The implementation of the guidelines and instructions issued by the individual holder of the Department for the organization and coordination of activities of the council of ministers, of the delegated committees of the government and the General committee of secretaries of state and under-secretaries.
The technical advice and support to the individual holder of the Department in the elaboration and adoption of the plans of action of the department.
The executive direction and coordination of common services of the department and, in particular, planning and economic and budgetary management, as well as human resources, technology and materials.
The establishment of programmes for staff and services, as well as the realization of the proceedings to the improvement of planning systems, management and organization and for the rationalization and simplification of procedures and methods of work, within the framework laid down by the ministry for the Digital Processing and the civil service. It also implements the coordination of activities associated with the assessments of public policies within the competence of the Department in support of the institute for the evaluation of public policies, in accordance with the evaluation of public policies approved by the council of ministers.
The elaboration and adoption of the Annual Plan of inspection of the department.

The management of the register of orders and awards.
The development policy on matters pertaining to the exercise of the right to freedom of religion and worship, and, where appropriate, report of the draft documents may affect the exercise.
The promotion, analysis, study, research, technical assistance, monitoring and development of freedom of religion and belief, its coordination with the competent bodies of other departments, collaboration with interested institutions and organizations in their promotion, as well as the management económico-presupuestaria credits allocated for their development.
The ordinary relations with religious entities.
The elaboration of proposals for agreements and cooperation agreements with churches, faiths and religious communities and, where appropriate, their follow-up.
The direction and management of the register of Religious organizations.
The study, promotion and defence of the right to freedom of religion and worship, as well as advice to the various public administrations in the implementation of management models adjusted to the constitutional framework that regulates the right of religious freedom in Spain and, in particular, the constitutional principles of freedom, equality, secularity and cooperation.
Relations with the competent international organizations in the area of freedom of religion, belief and worship and, more particularly, in the implementation and development of conventions or treaties relating to these freedoms.
The administration, repairs and maintenance of property attached to headquarters of the central services of the Department, the update inventory of the housing stock and the administration of property related to the processing of cases of earmarking, secondment or leases of immovable property for central services of the department and outreach services dependent on the legal profession.
The programming and management of new investment and replenishment; planning, monitoring and management of projects of construction, repair and maintenance of the headquarters buildings for central services of the department and the peripheral services dependent on the legal profession, as well as its facilities, furniture and other property necessary for the operationalization of services.
