Open Administration Week
La Open Administration Week is a global initiative driven by the Open Government Partnership (Open Gov Week). Its main objective is to bring public administrations closer to the citizens, based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration. In Spain, the Open Administration Week is coordinated and promoted by the General Directorate of Public Governance, with the collaboration of the Open Government Forum.
In 2023, The celebration of Open Administration Week 2023 in Spain took place from March 20 to 24, in collaboration with the Presidency of the Government. The Open Administration Week’s evaluation report 2023, the balance being as follows:
Han Registered a total of 1025 activities.
Participation of all AA.PP.68% have been organized by the General Administration of the State, 16% by the Autonomous Administrations, 13% by other entities of the public sector, 2% by the local administration and 1% by civil society organizations, universities and others.
Type of events registered. 431 open days, 100 seminars/webinars, 82 workshops, 77 informative talks, 75 plan presentations and 54 discussions/colloquiums were held. Participatory processes have also been held, such as the launching of consultations (43), the identification of virtual content (26) and the presentation of other activities.
By mode of implementation88% were carried out in person, thus recovering the carrying out of activities in this modality after two years of carrying out virtual activities determined by the health crisis due to COVID. The online format in this edition has been chosen by 9% of the organizing entities.
In 2022, the Open Government Alliance has set the date of realization from May 16 to 20. In Spain due to the announcement of the electoral process in Andalusia, it has been decided to postpone the celebration of the Open Administration Week, to the period between June 27, 2022 and July 1, 2022.
The registration period for events ended on June 15, 2022, with a total of 500 registrations.
Registered activities. They have been registered through the form provided for this purpose in the Open Government section of the Transparency Portal, 500 activities, so Spain revalidates, once again, its leadership among the 77 member states of the OGP, a long distance from the following classified in the ranking of organizers of the Week that have been Mexico with 32, Italy with 21, Germany with 14 and EE.UU with 10.
Participation of all AA.PP. Of the 500 registered activities, 354 are organized by the General Administration of the State, 93 by the Autonomous Administrations, 21 by the local administration and 32 by other entities.
Type of events registered. During Open Administration Week 2022, 148 open days were held, 138 activities to present publications, campaigns and virtual content (videos, podcasts, applications, websites…), 68 Webinars and seminars, 49 presentations of plans and programs and 14 debates or colloquiums, as well as participatory processes such as launches of consultations, contests or Hackathon, interview or other activities.
In 2021Open Administration Week was held from May 17 to 21, 2021. 89 events were organized in our country. Of these, 77 were registered in the Portal of Transparency, and 12 were registered directly by Local Entities in the OGP website, where you can consult the world map of the events of the Week (see informative note on Open Administration Week 2021).
72 events organized or coordinated by Governments of Autonomous Communities: Catalonia, Galicia, Andalusia, Principality of Asturias, La Rioja, Region of Murcia, Valencia, Aragon, Castile-La Mancha, Canary Islands, Autonomous Community of Navarre, Balearic Islands, Community of Madrid and Castile-Leon.
