Status of implementation

In october 2002 has been publishedClinical practice guidelines (GPC) on paediatric Palliative Care, which was attended by patient associations in the external review processes and public exposure of the draft GPC before publication (https :// portal.guiasalud.es/guia-en-capas/cuidados-paliativos-pediatria/).

In december 2022 issued the protocolClinical assessment and management of the self-harm in adolescence: protocol based on evidence. It involved a patient representative in the working group, and the international Federation of associations of relatives and Persons with Mental illness in Galicia in external review. In addition, the protocol was reviewed by adolescents of the study group and the treatment of self-inflicted injury (GRETA) (https :// portal.guiasalud.es/opbe/autolesiones-adolescencia/).

In may 2023 was issued ona document of the revision of the clinical practice guidelines (GPC) on the management of depression in adults, which lays down the process by which the working group concluded that the recommendations of the original GPC, published in 2014, continue to be applied. Members of the federation of Associations of relatives and persons with mental illness (FEAFES) participated in the revision of the GPC through the questionnaire of consultation with experts.

In may 2023 is issuedClinical practice guidelines on secondary prevention Update of stroke.. For incorporating the vision of patients, relatives and carers, participated in the group came unstuck in the registered partnershipsSchool of patients. Participated in the definition and valuation of the critical developments. It was also explored their views, to be taken into account in the process of elaboration of the recommendations, as well as in the process of revision of the documents. Also patient associations participated in the review process, and external public exposure of the draft GPC before publication.

One of the goals of the guidelines for Clinical Practice (GPC) in the national health system is to ensure that patients (or representatives of patients) participate in all stages of the design of GPC as members of the group brewer (GGE). In addition, all GPC are invited to participate in associations of patients in the external review processes and public exposure.

In the workplan of 2023, four new GPC:

  1. GPC on palliative care in the adult
  2. GPC on Chronic Renal Disease
  3. GPC on Atrial Fibrillation
  4. GPC on handling the behavioral Trastrornos Food

Information for patients, relatives and carers on the Clinical Practice (GPC) and Other Products Based on evidence (OPBE) is published in theHealth portal Guide, the library of guidelines for Clinical Practice of the national health system.

This portal aims to help patients, relatives and carers to understand the recommendations of the GPC and OPBE and provide necessary information to facilitate decision-making for its part. You can also serve to improve communication between doctor and patient.

One of the objectives of the programme is to ensure that patients (or representatives of patients) participate in all stages of the design of GPC as members of the group brewer (GGE). In addition, all GPC are invited to participate in associations of patients in the external review processes and public exposure.

Participation of patients in Other Products Based on evidence (OPBE)

In the table below shows the OPBE. In the case of OPBE, the participation of associations of patients in the external review of the document is assessed in each particular case. Now it's products in the process of elaboration and that have not yet reached the stage of external review. In the case of OPBE “ recommendations of the use of vitamin D ” have not been involved patients.
